Our job at Haida Gwaii Community Futures is to listen to your ideas, understand where you want to go with them, and create a way for you to realize your dreams. Together we are going to create an economy that uses local resources, is locally controlled, and creates long-term, sustainable employment on Haida Gwaii. Your ideas are the future of these islands.
Haida Gwaii Community Futures is committed to supporting Community Social Enterprise and Small Business Entrepreneurs move sustainable projects forward. We have a number of options at our disposal to do this whether it be a loan with us or with another lending institute, whether it be to assist in getting your paperwork in order for a grant or whether an equity investment is a better option for your enterprise.
We have a strong commitment to youth on the islands. Our services provide in-depth, comprehensive assitance and/or educational opportunities to help youth develop a business plan to start or expand a business.
For the forest and marine resource sectors, we have targeted loan investment funds. We are looking for individuals with a good business idea that will provide sustainable employment using traditional resources but in a new and innovative manner.
Self-identified entrepreneurs with disabilities are encouraged to explore their business ideas. We have a targeted loan investment fund that lets us help you secure the appropriate financing to start or grow your business.
